Arrival of guests took place at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Asif Munir thanked Mr. Absul Haseeb Khan, Mr. Ikhtiar Baig, Mr. Mustafa Kamal and all members of PAD for their presence. Mr. Asif Amin Farooqui recited a surah from the Holy Quran.

Mr. Abdul Haseeb Khan especially thanked City Nazim for sparing time for Deaf community. He said that it was very difficult for City Nazim to spare time but he ensured to attend this seminar and it was a very kind gesture from his side. He informed the participants about his strong relation with PAD and Deaf community and requested City Nazim to help PAD in getting place for school and park.
Introduction of PAD
Mr. Mansoor Majeed (Vice President – PAD)
Mr. Mansoor thanked all guests and especially Mr. Mustafa Kamal (City Nazim) for his presence at the seminar and sparing some time for PAD and Deaf community from his very busy schedule. Mr. Mansoor introduced himself as Vice President of PAD. He informed the participants that PAD was established in 1987 and at that time its name was KDWA. Since then PAD is working for the welfare of Deaf community and it has now been 20 years of PAD’s service to Deaf community. Mr. Mansoor said that PAD is a member of World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and Asia – Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD). He also highlighted PAD’s aim, educational activities, sports and recreational activities, programs for Deaf women and children, associate members, achievements and future goals. He emphasized on the importance of quality education and said that PAD is willing to start a project of Model School and park for the Deaf and seek government’s cooperation in this regard.

Mr. Irfan thanked all PAD members, head of companies, Mr. Abdul Haseeb Khan, Mr. Ikhtiar Baig, Mr. Yaseen Malik, Mr. S.M. Munir, Mr. Masood Naqi, Mr. Gulzar Firoz, Dr. Qaiser, Mr. Akbar Hussain and Mr. Mustafa Kamal (City Nazim). He requested Mr. Mustafa Kamal to allot a place for School and Park and said that it is very necessary to start a school and impart quality education to Deaf children. Mr. Irfan thanked Mr. Abdul Haseeb Khan for his continued support to PAD.

Mr. Mustafa Kamal said that instead of his busy schedule he has spared some time for Deaf community. He said that he thanked ALLAH for giving him the responsibility of City Nazim.
He assured of his help and asked PAD to look for a place (school and park) and he will allot it to PAD. He also announced to help Deaf people in getting jobs. Nazim Karachi said that disabled people are also valuable members of society and we should treat them on equal basis without any discrimination. He also said that we should put our share in providing them the facilities and thus enabling them to live an independent life. City Nazim added that separate seats in the buses would be allocated for disabled people. Nazim Karachi on this occasion also asked the representatives of Pakistan Association of Deaf to submit the list of their jobless special person so that they could be provided with better livelihood.

Mr. Yasin Malik thanked all participants. Talking about the implementation of job quota he said that public and private sector should assure the implementation of this quota. Deaf people can be hired and trained for 1 or 2 years and after training can be awarded job. He announced to give job to 15 Deaf persons.
